Job Description To be an effective Carrier Representative at Scarbrough Global, you must possess exceptional communication skills, an energetic personality, and a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for negotiating rates with carriers and building and establishing long-term relationships with said carriers. Responsibilities also include overseeing daily shipments and providing excellent customer service. You will be tracking multiple shipments and maintaining constant communication with carriers and customers throughout the shipment process. The ability to be proactive and resolve challenges is key for this role. Knowledge in supply chain processes, transport modes, technology, and services are helpful (but not required) within the position as it offers an industry foundation to present our services and solutions to potential customers and clients. Key Responsibilities Identify carriers for available freight and negotiate the best rates Manage daily load activities and proactively resolve problems/issues that arise; using out of the box thinking Foster relationships with potential and current carriers; build strong relationships with carriers and customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met Daily communication with carriers and clients via phone for tracking and follow through Strong negotiation skills to continually source new carrier partners Work closely with the Operations team to meet our clients’ shipping needs Characteristics of Success 1+ years Carrier Representative experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry, specifically in domestic transportation/truck brokerage helpful but not required Ability to establish, build, and maintain relationships with carriers and clients Energetic and determined self-starter with ability to take initiative Effective written and verbal communicator with excellent computer skills (TMS and Microsoft Office Suite) Continuously develop and train on phone technique; understanding sense of urgency and time critical matters Organized, self-motivated, performance driven, with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills Understanding of sales performance metrics Company Benefits All benefits, vacations, and raises are provided according to Scarbrough Global policy.
