Transportation Sales Executive – Government Business (Freight Forwarding)

THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION

Our client is a leading freight forwarding company that specializes in providing comprehensive logistics solutions to clients across various industries. With a strong commitment to excellence, we are expanding our team to include a dedicated Sales Executive focused on identifying and pursuing government business opportunities.

Position Overview:

The Sales Executive – Government Business will be responsible for driving the acquisition of government contracts and securing new business within the public sector. This role requires a strategic approach to business development, leveraging existing relationships and identifying new opportunities within government agencies, contractors, and organizations that require freight forwarding and logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within government or non-government agencies doing government business

Client Relationship Management:

Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams, and stakeholders.

Market Research:

Stay informed about industry trends, government procurement processes, and new projects that may require freight forwarding services.

Negotiations:

Conduct negotiations with government agencies and contractors to secure favorable terms for both the company and the client.

Sales Strategy:

Develop and implement effective sales strategies to target government contracts and ensure growth in this sector.

Sales Reporting & Metrics:

Track sales performance, provide regular updates, and report on key metrics such as lead generation, conversion rates, and revenue growth.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the internal operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and excellent customer service.

Compliance & Regulations:

Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant government regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding/ logistics industry.
Experience in working with freight forwarding and logistics
Proven track record of sales, government contracts or working with public sector/NGO clients.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
