The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, managing client accounts, and ensuring the smooth execution of freight shipments. This role requires a mixture of sales expertise and logistical knowledge, as well as strong communication skills to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation:
Identify and prospect potential customers in need of freight shipping solutions, including but not limited to local, regional, and international shipments.
Client Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Market Knowledge:
Stay informed about the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in freight and logistics to provide the best solutions to customers.
Target Achievement:
Meet and exceed sales goals and performance targets by effectively managing a pipeline of prospects and closing new businesses.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and customer interactions. Provide regular sales reports to management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in freight sales, shipping, logistics, or a related field. Strong understanding of the freight shipping industry, including shipping methods, pricing structures, and regulations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to build rapport with clients and understand their business needs. Knowledge of international shipping is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Logistics or a related field. Brokerage Shipper Sales. Shipper Onboarding. Existing relationships with large shippers. Experience working with both LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) shipments. Familiarity with customs documentation for international freight. Previous experience in a commission-based sales role.
