Our team seeks an Outbound Freight Specialist to help us create better outdoor experiences by ensuring that REI’s standards are properly applied and maintained in our Distribution Center. In this role, you will support the daily operation by accurately and effectively managing product flow, work with vendors on any problem receipts/orders and assist with complicated situations, such as returns from our retail locations. As a Specialist, you will make decisions that will have an impact on operations and ensure compliance with REI’s vales and missions.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The hours for this full-time position are Friday through Monday 4:00 am – 2:30 pm starting at $18.20/hr (plus shift differential) How you will be successful: Prioritize daily workloads to perform tasks at prescribed rates while working as a team Process and safely handle product in multiple departments as assigned, specific, but not limited to: Accurately receive and or/track product using an RF (radio frequency) gun and/ or computer Prepare product to be processed through the price marking department Prepare retail and direct to consumer (D2C) product for shipment, by picking, sorting, and/or packing product accurately and timely Work in multiple areas processing freight; requiring different task actions, lifting requirements, and technology tools Handle periodic significant change in freight processing due to external factors impacting status quo operations Identify and report problems/ solutions to maintain service level within the DC (service includes following up with internal customers) Effectively and safely operate various types of power equipment to move freight and complete assigned tasks Uses WMS (Warehouse Management System) to correct issues and ensure quality standards are met Facilitate proper processing of freight returned to our vendors for credit Research and appropriately slot SKU (products) within the entire warehouse Investigate various warehouse locations through identification of purchase order (PO) variances Communicate with external DC customers (merchandising, vendors, vendor compliance) to report, resolve, and share information Spend 80% of work time on material handling equipment in support of operational teams Bring your passionate, authentic self We lead with our values, and we are creating a culture that inspires and enables everyone to bring their whole self and their highest ambitions to work every day, so that we can achieve more outside together. Your qualities:
Must have 1+ year of experience using various warehouse equipment (forklift, order picker). Comfortable working with heights of 30+ ft. Able to work standing or walking for 10-12 hour shifts. Safely handle product in an efficient and trained manner. Ability to build rapport with other departments to ensure freight flow service levels and quality levels are maintained Able to frequently lift and shift boxes weighing an average of 20 to 30 pounds with a maximum of 65 pounds throughout a full shift of work. Flexibility to work within different departments. Works efficiently and safely by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and producing quality work.

Base Pay Range:
$23.80 – $26.45 per hour
