GENERAL SUMMARY
The CEO provides the leadership, vision, strategic direction, and operational management for the UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham hospital. Articulates a vision for the hospital and develops the direction and growth strategies necessary to achieve stated objectives and provide services needed in the local market. Directs the overall operations of the hospital, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensure and accreditation requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Provides innovative, mission-driven, inspired, and financially responsible executive leadership for UAB St. Vincent’s. 2. Lead, mentor, and develop senior management teams at each hospital to ensure effective delivery of services and alignment with strategic goals. 3. Serves as the chief spokesperson to represent the hospital to area business organizations and other related constituencies. Develop partnerships that enhance community health initiatives and promote wellness. 4. Builds collegial relationships with other executives in the community and
UABHS. 5.
Develops and articulates a clear and cohesive vision for the hospital. Creates a shared commitment to high quality, patient focused clinical care. Develops a clear and cohesive long and short-term growth strategy. Translates the strategy into a clear business plan. 6. Works with system leadership, medical staff, and hospital staff to develop and prioritize goals, objectives, and initiatives to be carried out within specified timeframes. 7. Oversees the daily operations of the hospital, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas. 8. Develops and implements the strategic plan for the hospital for both short and long-term goals and communicates this to all appropriate parties. 9. Meets or exceeds approved budget forecasts based on the strategic plan. 10. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and resource optimization. 11. Monitors clinical performance metrics and implements corrective actions as needed. 12. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements, continuous quality improvement programs, and organizational policies. 13. Leads the development of quality initiatives and standards and communicates these standards and results to all appropriate parties. 14. Ensures compliance with all employment-related laws and maintains a culture of openness, respect, and teamwork for all providers and staff of the organization. Prepares and presents reports on the region’s performance, initiatives, and strategic priorities. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Business, or a related field and ten (10) years of experience at the administrative level required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a multi-hospital system preferred.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Strong understanding of healthcare policies, regulations, quality standards, and compliance.
- Proven track record of successful financial management and operational excellence.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
