Job Description

Chief Executive Officer Spherion Staffing is seeking a transformational leader to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for our client-a strategic thinker with a servant’s heart, a steady hand, and a passion for building safe, healthy environments for children and families. The Mission To promote safe, healthy environments for children and families through advocacy, education, counseling and prevention. Qualifications Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred. A Bachelor’s degree with substantial executive leadership experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of senior-level leadership in a nonprofit, child welfare, behavioral health, or human services environment. Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, fundraising, program oversight, and financial stewardship. Strong background in trauma-informed care, child advocacy, and systems-level collaboration. Experience working with Boards of Directors and navigating governance. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring sustainability, and advancing our mission through innovation, advocacy, and connection. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Cast a compelling vision rooted in the mission and values of the agency. Drive agency-wide strategic planning in partnership with the Board and senior leadership. Model integrity, humility, and courage in every decision and relationship. Program and Operational Excellence Ensure all services meet the highest standards of clinical and ethical practice. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, outcome evaluation, and learning. Lead with foresight to anticipate community needs and trends in child welfare and behavioral health. Financial and Resource Stewardship Oversee responsible budgeting and financial operations in collaboration with the CFO and Finance Committee. Develop and diversify funding sources, including public grants, philanthropic partners, and donor support. Promote an abundance of mindset and long-term sustainability. Community Engagement and Advocacy Represent the agency as a thought leader and advocate locally, statewide, and nationally. Foster deep partnerships with government agencies, funders, nonprofits, and community stakeholders. Communicate the agency’s impact through powerful storytelling and data. Organizational Culture and Talent Development Inspire, develop, and retain a high-performing and diverse team. Champion a leadership culture rooted in servant leadership, curiosity, collaboration, and accountability. Promote inclusion, wellness, and growth across the agency. Governance Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, keeping them informed and engaged. Support board development, strategic alignment, and policy implementation.
