About Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital:

Founded in 1932, APD is a non-profit, community-based healthcare organization with a mission to improve the health and well-being of our community. APD has a strong reputation for personalized attention and provides patient centered care to more than 15,000 patients per year. Long known for primary care, APD also specializes in short-stay ambulatory surgery and other healthcare specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, integrative medicine, and a pain and psychiatry clinic. Today APD employs more than 500 staff members. Its campus includes a 25-bed critical access hospital with inpatient care and emergency services, a 10-bed Surgical Short Stay unit, an outpatient Multi-Specialty Clinic, a state-of-the-art Sleep Health Center, and APD Lifecare, a non-profit senior living community with two facilities that supports more than 150 residents in assisted and independent living.

About the job:

In addition to day-to-day operations at APD, the CEO is responsible for promoting an environment of collaboration and building a culture of exceptional service. The CEO establishes current and long-range objectives; provides leadership across diverse organizational operations and strategic initiatives including those focused on creating a culture of patient safety and ensuring high quality care and service; advances initiatives to improve population health; ensures regulatory and legal compliance for the organization and effective financial stewardship, people management, board governance, development, physician relations, system member relations and community relations; and provides direction to ensure successful implementation of major initiatives.

Minimum qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree or higher in health administration, public health, or a related field. They may possess a physician or other clinician credential and associated license to practice, but this is not required. Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in executive-level healthcare leadership. Past leadership in the critical access environment is preferred, and experience within a non-profit, complex health system is valuable.
