The Executive Director will lead, guide, and direct class participants in an effort to fulfill the mission of the organization, to improve communications in our community and the quality of life in Sevier County. The duties include collaborating with the Leadership Sevier Board of Directors to implement the strategic plan and managing relationships with community stakeholders.

June 16, 2025 at 12 PM Board and Budget 1. Responsible to the Leadership Sevier Board of Directors, attend Board Meetings, and serve on Board of Directors as an ex-officio member. 2. Facilitate Annual Board Retreat and develop annual goals and report accomplishments at the end of the year. 3. Prepare monthly Board agenda. 4. Oversee organization budget, participate with the budget committee in annual budget development, and manage approved budget. 5. Facilitate and participate in fund raising activities for the organization, establish relationships with potential sponsors and donors. 6. Serve as official spokesperson for Leadership Sevier, Inc., make public appearances, and arrange public speaking engagements on behalf of the organization. 7. Coordinate all publicity and printed materials with committees. 8. Serve as the media liaison for the organization. 9. Manage the operation of the membership website, and social media platforms working directly with the Membership/Communications/Marketing committee. 10. Supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers. 11. Other duties assigned by the Board of Directors. Program Administration 1. Facilitate the development and implementation of program days with the class members for Leadership Sevier and Leadership Tomorrow for all Leadership Sevier program days, orientation, introductions, and graduations, keeping them engaging and informative. 2. Facilitate the development and implementation of the Smoky Mountain Youth Leadership Program class curriculum, program days, orientation, and graduation. Keep policies and procedures up to date in all programs. 3. Coordinate annual nominations and selection of class members with Leadership Sevier, Leadership Tomorrow, and Smoky Mountain Youth Leadership. 4. Plan, facilitate and lead annual Leadership Sevier class Introductions and Orientation to motivate class members, and encourage interaction between members and engage the board advisors. Maintain safe practices. 5. Facilitate event planning and conducting membership events. 6. Participate in Tennessee Association of Community Leaders (TACL) organization. 7. Assist East Tennessee Leadership organization with recommendation of participants that are graduates of Leadership Sevier. 8. Be cognizant of potential leadership class nominations from diverse backgrounds that live or work in Sevier County. 9. Protect the integrity and personal information of the LS Inc organization and all class members and alumni. Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Graduate of Leadership Sevier or Leadership Tomorrow a plus. Broad knowledge of Sevier County, history, heritage, and community. Passion for the community and love of people, life-long learner, and strong sense of social responsibility. Must be self-motivated and disciplined, goal driven, quality focused, results driven leader. Must promote a “teamwork” environment leadership style and strong knowledge in building effective teams. Must demonstrate knowledge in negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making and delegation. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with the LS Board, Leadership Tomorrow Advisory Board and other community groups as needed. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, Spanish, or other language a plus, and project a positive, professional image. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Must adapt readily to change and the ability to work flexible hours. Experience in working with diverse communities and populations. Certification in personality assessment, DISC, Myers Briggs, a plus. Efficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledgeable in website and social media. Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and state required liability insurance. Must pass a background and credit check. Physical demands Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, reach, push, pull, climb stairs, for extended periods, some days and lift objects up to 25 pounds, balance, stoop, and kneel. Must maintain good personal hygiene. May be exposed to outdoor elements and weather conditions. Must be able to set up and clean up after special events. Work Environment The work environment is an indoor office setting except for program days. When on program days, you may face various weather conditions.
