Plant Power is a leading manufacturer of medium and low voltage switchgear solutions, serving clients across utilities, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. As we transition into a new, state-of-the-art facility, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the organization into its next phase of operational excellence and growth.

Position Summary:

The General Manager (GM) will have full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and will be accountable for all aspects of business operations, including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and customer service. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep industry experience, a strong operational background, and a proven track record of driving performance in a complex manufacturing environment. The GM will play a key role in leading the successful transition to our new facility, optimizing production capabilities, developing strategic plans to meet customer expectations and ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

§ Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies aligned with corporate objectives. Drive the company’s vision and values, fostering a high-performance culture.

Operational Oversight:

§ Lead the transition and ramp-up of operations in the new facility. § Ensure efficient production processes, quality control, and on-time delivery. Optimize resource allocation, workforce planning, and plant utilization.

Financial Management:

§ Full P&L responsibility; manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives. § Drive profitability through continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency. § Report financial performance to executive leadership and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership:

§ Build, mentor, and lead a strong management team across functions. § Promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure clear accountability. Foster a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment.

Customer and Market Focus:

§ Strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic partners. § Oversee commercial activities including sales, pricing strategies, and market expansion. Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.

Compliance and Safety:

§ Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. § Champion continuous improvement initiatives in EH&S and quality systems.

Qualifications:

§ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred. § 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing and assembly, preferably in electrical equipment or switchgear production. § Demonstrated success in managing full P&L responsibilities in a mid-sized industrial company. § Proven experience leading facility start-ups, transitions, or major operational expansions. § Strong knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain and quality systems. § Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$180,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
