This executive role is integral to optimizing portfolio performance, ensuring compliance with regional regulations, and minimizing bad debt losses. As a key member of the leadership team, the VP will contribute to the company’s overall growth by developing innovative recovery strategies, leveraging emerging technologies, and fostering a high-performing culture within the team. The VP will also be responsible for driving operational excellence, promoting data-driven decisions, and enhancing recovery outcomes through predictive analytics and streamlined processes. This role requires strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead change management efforts while maintaining high levels of employee engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Driving Operational Excellence and Strategic Leadership Oversee North-American operations in debt and asset recovery, ensuring alignment with the mission to optimize portfolio performance and compliance with regional regulations and standards. Develop and drive strategies that enhance team performance, improve recovery rates and minimize bad debt losses to achieve organizational goals. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate debt and asset recovery strategies and effectiveness (e.g. recovery rate, cost reduction, turnaround times). Utilize key metrics to continuously drive operational improvements and greater profitability. Implement risk mitigation efforts by developing and executing effective workout strategies for high exposure accounts. Address litigation issues to minimize losses and stabilize the portfolio. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, providing insights and recommendations to drive decision-making Foster team development through training, mentorship, and performance evaluations, building a high-performing culture. Promote data-driven decisions in an effort to unify and centralize portfolio management operations. Design and develop agent and portfolio performance dashboards, serving as business process owner. Work closely with managers to ensure routine monitoring to drive performance. Partner with data and IT teams to expand captured data environment, working to automate, update, expand enterprise reporting. Establish and maintain universal policy and procedure documents for the N.A. Portfolio Management team, working in conjunction with Portfolio Management Managers to ensure compliance. Conduct vendor assessments, lead contract negotiations, implement vendor tracking performance metrics. Work closely with managers to ensure strategic alignment, adequate KPI assessments, compliance to internal controls and policy/procedures. Identify strategic alignment opportunities, maintain project prioritization charter, work closely with SVP, Portfolio Management to ensure department goals and objectives are met timely and accurately. Innovation and Organizational Transformation Drive innovation in recovery strategies, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices. Drive efficiency by leveraging best practices, digital tools, and streamlined processes to reduce costs and improve turnaround times. Develop predictive analytics to proactively target risks and enhance recovery outcomes. Identify new revenue opportunities, such as third-party recovery services, positioning the organization as a strategic partner. Lead change management efforts through training, communication, and engagement initiatives to ensure the successful adoption of new processes and tools while maintaining employee engagement. Promote continuous improvement through collaborative initiatives across departments to drive efficiency and performance.
Key Performance Indicators:
Recovery Rate:
Percentage of recovered debt & assets compared to outstanding debt & assets. Improving delinquency statistics and recovery rates over time.
Operational Efficiency:
Cost savings achieved through process improvements and automation. Reduction in turnaround times for debt & asset recovery processes.
Financial Performance:
Revenue from Collection fees including late charges and NSF fees, Reduction in losses due to effective litigation strategies, Delinquency rate of contracts restructured approved in portfolio management (term extensions).
Employee Performance:
Team Engagement Score, Performance Review.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority:
Act independently; Decision-making within Company policy.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities:
Team Development & Performance Management Oversee the development and performance of team members, overseeing implementation of quality assurance programs, including regular training, coaching, and performance evaluations. Analyze team performance metrics and implement strategies to enhance overall customer experience outcomes. Education and Experience:
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in debt recovery, collection, litigation, and/or asset management, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Working Hours:
Hours may vary and will require some evening work; frequently requires working 40-45 hours/week depending on business needs
Travel:
Occasional travel is required to attend meetings and oversee operations at various office locations across Canada and the US .
Physical Demands:

The position is an exempt role and the salary will be between $138,441 and $153,180 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus. The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience and education.
