Opportunity:
Due to annual growth in the high single and/or double-digit range over the last decade, North Florida Surgeons requires an experienced, talented and motivated Vice President of Revenue Cycle and Operations. Our group has grown to over 40 clinical offices in six metro areas and two time zones with over three hundred (300) clinical providers employed across six specialties through numerous entities. We are a multi-year MGMA “Better Performing Practice” award recipient. This exempt position is based in Jacksonville, Florida and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and has an indirect (dotted-line) reporting relationship to the Chief Financial Officer. This is an on-site/in-person role.
What You Will Do:
The Vice President of Revenue Cycle and Operations will be responsible for optimizing the group’s revenue cycle management operations (RCM) across the entire organization. The Director of Revenue Cycle and Operations will continuously pursue improvement of operational workflows to optimize revenue cycle goals, from the clinical offices back to the business office. Responsibilities for this position include the following: Oversight of the entire revenue cycle workflows from clinical to billing offices and then through external payers Manage the RCM leaders and staff at the main business office Enhances communication with the managers and staff of the clinical offices of North Florida and provides them insights and tools to increase their operating efficiencies. Provide hands-on and on-site interaction with clinical and billing offices across the entire service territory Evaluate, track and guide offices in optimizing revenue cycle activities Evaluate, track and guide offices in optimizing clinical operations Actively lead workflow design, improvement and execution Set requirements and assist in evaluation of solutions to fill identified gaps Provide oversight and hands-on management during all product roll-outs/go-lives for new solutions and new offices Report operational metrics to the CEO and CFO and collaborate on execution planning Actively participate in carrier claims escalations, when necessary Act as compliance officer and assist all offices in regulatory compliance for revenue cycle related activities Responsible for the continued development and oversight of policies, procedures and workflow documentation relating to RCM Ensures that policies are uniformly understood and consistently interpreted and administered. Assists in the evaluation of new technology into the Practice; lead planning and oversight for internal product/solution implementations. Provide a standard for identifying and resolving operational gaps Maintain a standard for reporting of key metrics and actions related to variances. Provides recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing options for efficiency and cost containment, without compromising quality of care, innovation, or opportunities for growth. Responds to the needs of members of North Florida’s team through effective communications, mentorship, mutual respect, and consistent follow through in order to generate trust and enhance the effectiveness of all. Provide formal and informal feedback to managers and staff while addressing employee concerns and improving job satisfaction. Oversees and ensures that an optimal number of well-matched personnel are placed in appropriate positions Advances his/her personal knowledge base in the business and health care arenas by pursuing continuing education and personal credentials, looking to continually enhance opportunities for the Practice. Be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required. A master’s degree, particularly an MBA, is strongly preferred. A CPA credential is also desirable but not required. A minimum of 5+ years of management experience. Experience in a rapidly growing mid- to large-sized employer is a significant plus. Lean Six Sigma/Six Sigma certifications preferred but not required. Healthcare industry knowledge and experience is highly desirable. A strong knowledge of healthcare organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives Knowledge of healthcare regulations Microsoft Office knowledge and capability is required.
