OVERVIEW

The Regional Vice President of Operations is a senior field leadership role with oversight of multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities. This position is responsible for regional P&L and is accountable for achieving company objectives related to cost, productivity, leadership, customer service, profits, and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves overseeing the leadership of multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities and ensuring that the quality of care and service delivered meets the highest standards. The Regional Vice President will be responsible for creating and adhering to assigned budgets, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and developing revenue strategies. They will train and manage facility leadership, ensure that clinical staffing levels are monitored and maintained, and participate in business development efforts to consistently grow census. The position is accountable for fostering a culture of employee retention through a focus on quality workforce development, customer service, and operational excellence. The Vice President will analyze regional KPIs and P&L statements to identify performance gaps and opportunities, while establishing and executing effective business strategies in collaboration with leadership teams to enable profitable growth. Leadership development is key to the role—cultivating confidence and inspiring passion in market leaders is a critical expectation. Sound communication and motivational techniques are essential, along with the ability to create and manage programs for staff supervision, counseling, and corrective action when necessary. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, supervising, and training Executive Directors/Nursing Home Administrators. Support for regional staff across clinical, financial, marketing, and HR functions is expected to ensure appropriate resources and assistance are provided. The Vice President must ensure that all regional facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing home administration. Regular meetings and site visits with Executive Directors are required to maintain effective supervision, communication, and operational monitoring. The role also includes collaboration with marketing teams to strategize around census expansion and program promotion, resolution of hotline calls, and maintaining the highest level of honesty and integrity in all professional interactions. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in skilled nursing operations and at least 5 years of regional multisite leadership experience overseeing five or more care centers. An active Florida Nursing Home Administrator license is required, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a proven track record in improving healthcare service quality, maximizing revenue, growing census, staff mentorship, expense control, and increasing resident satisfaction. Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent communication and presentation abilities are also necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role includes direct supervision of Facility Administrators and oversight of the overall facility operations, as well as Regional Administrators.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position operates within a healthcare setting and requires regular walking throughout care centers. Exposure to viruses, diseases, and infections may occur, as well as potential encounters with traumatic situations, including psychiatric cases and deceased patients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands of this role include the ability to move throughout properties and facilities to assess maintenance issues, plan repairs, and complete inspections. The role requires the ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined spaces. At times, the employee may need to stand, walk, sit, use hands for fine motor tasks, reach with arms, climb stairs, talk, or hear. Occasionally, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
