Position Overview:

The Vice President, Programs is responsible for overseeing the overall mission delivery of the organization’s Friendship, Leadership, Jobs, and Inclusive Living mission pillars. The vice president oversees these efforts by managing a senior team of leaders who directly oversee the implementation of the program delivery. The VP is responsible for setting and meeting all programmatic goals as well as directly driving strategic support to field staff. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of management/supervisory experience, and superior team building and leadership skills. Superior project management skills – including planning, analysis, decision making, and problem solving – and willingness to multitask. Superior initiative, drive for results, and self-assessment skills, and ability to lead individuals and teams in setting and achieving challenging goals. Must be highly dependable, lead by example and be willing/able to adapt management style to fit the situation and hold staff accountable for meeting set expectations. Superior presentation skills with the ability to exert influence, inspire others, and articulate the mission, goals, and activities of Best Buddies with passion and enthusiasm. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database programs. Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Programs Supervises the senior directors of Friendship, Leadership, Jobs and Inclusive Living, providing strategic support and guidance to the day-to-day management Works with senior directors to drive efforts to communicate our programs policies, procedures, opportunities and successes and ensure high standards of quality are met in all programs Analyzes the existing infrastructure around programs to determine current program numbers and oversee ongoing collection of program data Fund Development Develops partnerships to leverage funding opportunities to support the growth and development of programs and foster participation in fundraising initiatives Oversees multistate Foundation partnerships as assigned by SVP supporting the organizations overall annual revenue goals Works with multiple departments to ensure the successful strategy and oversight of foundation stewardship Operations Works with multiple departments to ensure the programs teams have the proper resources to execute the mission and development strategy, and effectively communicate the mission Provides regular leadership and support to the program teams through meetings, team conference calls and other training and team building opportunities Human Resources Manages recruitment, screening, hiring, training and ongoing management for direct reports Oversees direct reports, responsible for staff development, oversight, and providing meaningful performance feedback, as well as holding them accountable for meeting all development, programmatic and operational goals, hitting benchmarks, and following best practices and guidelines Inspires and motivates staff by demonstrating personal commitment and integrity and providing proactive training, support and recognition Responsible for the success of all human resources related activities within the team. Understands, follows and reinforces human resources policies in a consistent manner.
