Join WellStar Health, a world-class health system, as you take on the innovative role of AVP of Medical Staff Services in sunny Marietta, Georgia! The Position The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Medical Staff Services will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day Medical Staff operations while providing leadership to the Provider Credentialing and Peer Review teams that support 100+offices and medical facilities throughout WellStar Health. Reporting to the Vice President of Medical Staff Services, the AVP will be responsible for the management and coordination of approximately 6,000+ practitioner roles throughout WellStar Health while simultaneously overseeing Medical Executive Committee, Corrective Action Support, and Fair Hearing Processes. The AVP will direct the coordination of Medical Staff, Quality Improvement, and Performance Improvement initiatives and will be responsible for appointment/reappointment processes, credential file maintenance, privilege processing. This leader will manage departmental financial initiatives including the development of capital budgets, strategic financial plans, and operating budgets. Responsible for monitoring all applicable regulatory laws including State, CMS, FDA, and The Joint Commission (TJC) system compliance regulations and will serve as a liaison between Medical Staff and Hospital Attorney on any medico-legal needs. Seeking a hands-on leader who will be willing and able to implement and foster a positive work environment by encouraging strong communication, collaboration, and accountability throughout the department. The AVP will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of Focused Professional Practitioner Evaluation (FPPE), Ongoing Professional Practitioner Evaluation (OPPE), and Focus Physician Performance Evaluation for Concern (FPPE-C). Requirements Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree strongly preferred. A minimum of ten years of related experience is required. CPMSM (Certified Professional in Medical Services Management) is preferred.
