Job Description SummaryThe VP of Operations is responsible fordeveloping strategies, guiding franchise business location teams,and working with other business partners, both internal andexternal, to enhance the overall value and efficiency relating tothe management portfolio.

The VP of Operations is a highly motivatedand results driven business unit leader who directs and manages theorganization’s daily business activities, develops effectivebusiness strategies, and implements programs to meet overall growthobjectives. They account for staff development, controls of andefficiencies of daily operations, sale objectives, EBITDAmanagement, client and vendor relationships and embody theorganization’s image. The VP of Operations also determines andupholds the vision and mission of the company.

What You’ll Do(Functions & Responsibilities)

Operations Management:

The VP ensures that all aspects ofoperations run smoothly. This includes oversight of businessdevelopment, revenue management, occupancy, property maintenance,housekeeping, guest services, and vendor relationships. Oversightfor all hiring management, performance reviews and training for allteam members. Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-relatedpolicies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensureeffective and consistent support and execution. Oversight for allhiring, management performance reviews and training for allemployees.

Strategic Planning:

Establishes, implements, and communicatesthe strategic direction of operations division to optimize rentalrevenue, occupancy rates, and guest satisfaction for all businesslocations. This involves analyzing market trends, overseeingpricing strategies, and identifying growth opportunities.

Financial Management:

The VP oversees budgeting, financialreporting, and cost control. They work closely with finance teamsto ensure profitability and efficient resource allocation.

Quality Assurance:

Ensuring consistent quality across rentalproperties is crucial. The VP establishes and monitors standardsfor cleanliness, safety, and guest experience.

Team Leadership:

Collaborates with leadership to develop andmeet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance onoperations projects and systems. Lead and motivate propertymanagers, staff, and other team members. Effective communicationand collaboration are essential. Identifies training needs andensures proper training is developed and provided.

Marketing and Sales:

The VP collaborates with marketing teamsto promote business development, attract guests, and manage onlinelistings. They also explore partnerships and distributionchannels.

Technology and Systems:

Staying updated on industry technology(such as property management software) is vital. Identifies,recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systemsto improve and streamline organizational processes and use ofresources and materials.

Administration:

Maintains operational protocols and efficiency,allocate resources, and monitors the success of key performanceindicators. Develops and maintains relationships with property owners,prospective owners, and their team members. Communicates with relevant vendors and trade associations. Reviews vendor relationships on an ongoing basis and makeschanges to improve efficiencies. Attends industry conferences. Creates, reviews, updates, and enhances operational workflowprocesses.

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For (Minimumqualifications) 5 or more years of management experience in short term rentalproperty management. Valid driver’s license and the ability to commute to franchiselocations throughout the US. Real Estate Brokers license required. Experience with the day-to-day operations of shortterm/vacation rental property management, including revenuemanagement, preferred. Previous technology experience or aptitude a plus. Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products,with a focus on Excel (can create pivot tables, for example) andWord. Attentive to timelines and excellent time managementskills. Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Committed to providing world-class client service to propertyowners, rental guests, vendors, and more. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data, contracts, andvendor agreements. Strong conflict resolution and negotiating skills. Remote office and management experience. Willingness to keep current with new trends andlegal/regulatory aspects of the short-term/vacation rentalindustry. Budgeting and monthly financial reporting experiencerequired. Superior interpersonal skills including effective written,verbal, and listening. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work weekends during peak rental times.

EducationRequirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relatedfield. MBA/Master’s preferred.
