CEO SUMMARY OF ROLE
Responsible for overall performance of the Region, with a focus on driving organic growth while optimizing profitability and working capital management. Leader will be responsible for fostering a safety-first culture of trust, collaboration, and performance. Leader will also participate in the development of the company’s longer-term Vision, Mission and Values and ensure their Region’s adherence to same.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the P&L of the Region, all Sales Managers, and all branch operations.
- Responsible for building a high-performing sales organization, starting with a DSM team with a growth-oriented culture.
- Monitor all departments growth and progress toward annual objectives, encouraging them to reach new heights.
- Working closely with the COO, guide the Operations Director for the Region in building a highly functional branch network driven by KPI’s that are aligned with sales, service, and profitability goals.
- Provides regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team (CEO, CFO, CHRO, COO, CIO, and GC) on the state of the business, significant opportunities, and hurdles in regard to meeting/exceeding the region’s annual operating plan.
- Drive excellence through the continued implementation of best sales strategies/practices, processes, and operations to maximize the efficiency of the sales organization.
- The VP/GM should also be engaged with:
- The region’s largest and most important customers
- The region’s most strategic suppliers
- Coordinate closely with corporate/shared resources to drive growth and profitability
- These include:
- Key markets team
- Product Management/Marketing
- Supply Chain/Procurement
- Environment, Health and Safety
- Pricing
- In this role, s/he is expected to introduce new tactics and metrics throughout the business to further transition the culture to one that is proactive, solution sales-oriented and results-driven.
SKILLS and
ABILITIES
- An experienced P&L leader and commercially minded sales leader with a strong external market focus and an understanding of the markets and customer groups (e.
g., industrial services, solution-selling to
OEM /MRO
customer types) important to the Company.
- Have a record of accomplishment providing an outstanding customer experience in past roles and managing and delivering financial results across a technical, solutions-oriented business.
- Understand and embrace the value of co-engineering and customer service with regard to developing long-term, meaningful relationships as an industrial solutions “provider of choice” to the Company’s customers.
- Understand and have experience in a technical sales process founded on total cost of ownership.
- Have experience leading teams by creating strategies and plans that lead to successful execution: o Regularly develop initiatives and priorities to drive profitable growth.
o Set goals and methods for monitoring progress that motivate and engage associates at a Region, District, and individual level. o Regularly monitor and clearly communicate goals and progress to facilitate additional investments, course corrections, and interventions as necessary.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop a multi-functional organization by integrating disparate businesses and practices into one go-to-market approach
- Experience in a value-added distributor sales model preferred
- Experience with the Company’s products and services preferred (fluid power, hose and fittings, conveyance solutions) Minimum
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is expected (e.g., in engineering and/or business administration), Master’s is beneficial.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five (5) years with oversight of commercial, operational, financial, and strategic objectives
- Experience with driving change, business integration and leading diverse teams is essential.
