$98.2K – $127K a year 1 day ago Qualifications RN License 5 years BLS Certification Bachelor’s degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing Senior level Leadership Communication skills Full Job Description The Director Transplant & Cellular Therapy provides administrative direction, supervision, and support for the Transplant & Cellular Therapy Program at Our Lake of the Lake in a common mission while fostering interdepartmental collaboration across the continuum of care. This role works closely with the Cancer Service Line VP Leadership to coordinate strategies and practices of the Blood Cancer and TCT programs. The Director also oversees essential program services. Drives overall program performance while collaborating with Inpatient and Outpatient Nursing services. 1.

Vision:

Establish program vision, leadership, and organization and operations oversight including administrative and fiscal policy development. Works effectively with the program Medical Director in a dyad relationship, ensuring strong lines of communication and follow-up, and jointly addressing and resolving issues proactively as they are identified. Includes Nurse leader as needed Serves as a key participant in groups focused on TCT services (emphasizing collaboration between pediatrics and adult populations – if applicable) including but not limited to: TCT Executive Committee, TCT Quality Improvement, TCT Patient Review Meeting, Blood Cancer Workgroup, Cancer Committee, Clinical Research Department, CTL Operations, Finance Billing, Coding, & Reimbursement Workgroup, HCT/IECT Workgroup, Pediatric TCT Workgroup, and Survival Taskforce

  • Collaborates with the Sarah Cannon Transplant & Cellular Therapy Network team and the other programs associated with the Network. Indirect reporting to the SCTCTN AVP, Operations
  • Functions as the liaison for all business program operations within the facility utilizing effective communication and authentic leadership competencies.

Financial and Program Growth Responsible for the annual operating budget, Program strategic planning, goal setting, and business development. Implements strategic and growth objectives, including identifying new markets for growth. Recommends improvement of hospital facilities in assigned areas, including construction and renovation of structures, and purchase of new equipment and technologies. Makes continuous efforts to ensure cost-effective, efficient operations Ensures that the strategies, priorities, and operations are aligned and complementary. Encourages and assists department managers in establishing measures of performance including Increased productivity, market share, quality improvement, cost controls, and maximum utilization of facilities. Collaborates with Finance to review contractual arrangements and reimbursement opportunities. Advises the Vice President and/or Chief Operating Officer where executive action is necessary to accomplish these goals. Collaborates with the Accounting, Revenue Integrity, Managed Care, and Medical Records departments to oversee cancer service reimbursements to ensure appropriate payments from third-party payers and CMS. Ensures the chargemaster is continuously updated to reflect current Medicare coding compliance. Provides financial management including reimbursement and program costs and collaborates with the HCA PCA managed care contracting team. Develops and maintains data on market share costs, profitability, and competitor data. Responsible for Program marketing and Outreach clinic strategy, development, and effectiveness evaluation. Serves as a regional and national leader to promote program growth and stability. 2.

Human Resource:

Develops forums for best practice development and knowledge sharing and ensures the managers have the necessary tools and information to manage effectively. Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of the program. Facilitates certification of personnel and provides for continuing education and training. Effectively performs personnel tasks including hiring, counseling, promoting, and disciplining staff as appropriate. Conducts and documents regular departmental meetings with all department personnel for proper communication. Effectively mentors staff for professional development. Holds all clinic team members accountable to a high standard of professional behavior Develops and oversees an optimized recruitment, training, education, and competency program for staff 3.

Quality:

Implements quality program to reduce risk and promote quality care. Ensures all aspects of Blood Cancer and TCT services are coordinated to produce quality patient care and attain maximum utilization of staff time and resources. Collaborates extensively with physicians, CEO, COO, CFO, and CNO/ACNO, administrative teams, and department managers. Functions well in a matrix structure.

  • Ensures full, ongoing compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies, with emphasis on FACT accreditation.

Provides leadership and oversight for Clinical Supervisors, ensuring the proper tools, resources, and environment to carry out their responsibilities, including operating within compliance with Medicare and NMDP regulations. Develops with Clinical Supervisors/Navigators adequate QA/PI plans for each respective area and holds Supervisors/Navigators accountable for ensuring that plans, goals, and targets are achieved; serves as content expert on policies and procedures where appropriate

  • Strong collaboration with the Infection Prevention team to ensure safe care for an immunosuppressed patient population.
  • Clinic oversight includes: reviewing and revising physician clinic schedules for efficiency and improved throughput; regularly analyzing clinic throughput metrics to promote clinic efficiency.
  • Develops, implements, and sustains an effective customer service and service recovery plan.

Maintains high-quality indicators and a positive reputation in all services. Responsible for the response to requests for information (RFIs) from national, regional, and local insurers following the SCTCTN review and guidance. 4.

Experience:

5 years of relevant clinical experience

Education:

Nursing Bachelor’s Degree (BSN)

License and Certifications:
