Job Summary The Director is a critical leader within the centralized ambulatory operations team at Mass General Brigham (MGB). Reporting to the Enterprise Vice President, Ambulatory Operations, the Director is primarily responsible for supporting the execution of MGB’s ambulatory access integration and operational improvement strategy through project management, process improvement, and operational support. This role will work across multiple clinical departments and operational units, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide priorities focused on improving patient access, streamlining operations, and enhancing the patient and provider experience. The Director will serve as a key point of coordination for initiative implementation, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Support the execution of enterprise-wide ambulatory access and operational strategies under the leadership of the Enterprise VP. Lead complex, cross-functional access integration, operational redesign, and workflow optimization projects. Direct the daily operations of ambulatory services programs, including oversight of budgeting/financial management, regulatory/legal compliance, staffing, external relations/communication, and other essential work streams. Coordinates efforts to develop, track and execute improvement plans for MGB ambulatory system goals. Develops and maintains organizational structure mapping and communication plans. Coordination and management of system-wide ambulatory protocols and procedures. Tests, evaluates, and scales new models of ambulatory care delivery and support services. Develops exceptional trusting relationships with ambulatory operations and clinical leaders across the system to align operations and support the implementation of central ambulatory access and operations priorities. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required 5-10 years of experience in project management, outpatient clinic management, and process improvement Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, streamlined, repeatable messages for executives, clinicians, and staff. Experienced transformational leader. Ability to create relationships and pathways necessary to drive organizational change. Knowledge of project/program management methodologies and best practices, including financial management. Deep knowledge of outpatient clinic operations, including but not limited to access, patient throughput, capacity management, clinic management and patient experience. Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing, collaborative teams in a complex, matrixed healthcare environment.
