We are a Privately-Owned Solar Engineering Services and Installations firm, focusing exclusively on the development of industry-leading racking and foundation solutions. We develop, design, install and sell solar racking products that are highly efficient and custom installation solutions that enhance the overall adoption of solar. Summary of the

Role:

The Vice President of Operations (VP of Ops) at DCE Solar & DCE Service is a key leadership role responsible for developing strategic direction, execution methods and direct management guidance to the companies operations team. A primary focus of this role is to maximize productivity, profitability and growth, while ensuring effective day-to-day leadership and management of the operations functions. The VP of Ops. will be an advisor to the Executive management team and drive and develop strategic initiatives. These initiatives should include driving transformation initiatives, modernizing technological infrastructure, and developing additional product and/or service offerings for growth and expansion. The operational health of our Racking and Installation businesses depends on an effective leadership and efficient business operations. This individual must sit onsite at our HQ in Cornelius, NC and if not local, must be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:
Operations Direction:

Manage organization operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established Executive Managements goals, objectives, and policies. Provide clear direction and structure for operational areas to ensure efficient workflow optimization.

Management:

Manage the subcontractor vetting and qualifying process team, oversee the management of the construction Project Management, Technical Design Support, and Proposal Project Coordination by providing knowledge, training, and goals to ensure effective outcomes.

Strategy Development:

Develop and create strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals. Implement programs to ensure the attainment of the business plan for growth and profit.

Transformation and Modernization:

Drive transformation initiatives and modernize technological infrastructure. Identify, develop, and launch new capabilities and programs that leverage both technical advancements and people-driven initiatives. This should be focused on process improvement and creating scalable processes.

Accountability:

Set clear priorities, measurable, and goals to optimize the delivery of high-quality services on time and on budget. Make data-driven decisions to maximize investments and increase efficiency by setting and tracking metrics.

Team Leadership:

Provide mentoring and guidance to teammates, fostering a culture of learning and professional development. Appoint and oversee department leads/managers, assigning or delegating responsibilities to them. Foster collaboration among all responsible departments to complete projects and maintain profitability.

Financial Oversight:

Collaborate with the CEO to ensure the organization’s financial and budget activities support operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency. Negotiation skills to effectively execute the profitability targets when working with subcontractors and suppliers.

Services Development:

Analyze the existing services and subcontractor partners and determine a strategy that can propagate our current services offering with enhanced services for our customers, which can expand our revenue. Develop and integrate renewable energy projects to support the organization’s long-term global strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, and/or 15+ years of equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in field construction management, with a preference for solar experience. Progressive field and/or site experience as a Site Superintendent, Foreman and/or Project Manager MBA or mutually agreed upon curriculum or related fields of study to include the following subsets: Leadership Development Certification, PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, Lean Six Sigma certification (Root Cause Analysis Methods) Each of these areas experience in leading teams and developing methods Excellent communication and presentation skills. A true partner in collaborating with the Executive Management team Must demonstrate a thorough sense of urgency and initiative driven characteristics. History of managing several projects simultaneously to successful conclusion Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Experience with growing a business in hyper-growth industries. Demonstrated ability to drive business strategy and influence at all levels of the organization. Expertise in business acumen, with a long-term focus and market awareness. Ability to establish and sustain an effective KPI-driven operation. This individual must sit onsite at our HQ in Cornelius, NC and if not local, must be willing to relocate.
