Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Global Head of IT Operations to oversee and lead our IT team in Albany, New York. This role will require strong leadership skills to manage a growing team and ensure efficient operations in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to drive growth while maintaining a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, helpdesk staff, and hardware managers.
- Oversee budgeting, expense approvals, and resource allocation to ensure the efficient operation of the IT department.
- Act as the primary escalation point for HR issues, team challenges, and workload distribution.
- Develop and implement strategies to support the growth and scalability of the IT team, including hiring and structuring new roles.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring team members are motivated and workloads are balanced.
- Provide input on technology solutions and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain and oversee Active Directory, backup technologies, and configuration management systems.
- Collaborate with leadership to align IT initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.
- Participate in quarterly on-site visits to headquarters and other locations as needed.
- Ensure the team is equipped to handle the demands of private equity and datacenter operations while maintaining composure under pressure. Requirements
- Proven experience in IT leadership roles, managing teams of 10 or more individuals.
- Strong background in Active Directory, backup technologies, computer hardware, and configuration management.
- Exceptional people management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster team cohesion.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, approve expenses, and contribute to strategic planning.
- Experience in hiring and structuring teams to support organizational growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to remain composed and level-headed in high-pressure situations.
- Prior experience in private equity or datacenter environments is a plus.
