Purpose of the Position Supervises and coordinates contract staff on routine to moderately complex activities in the life cycle of the contract, from proposal initiation to contraction completion and closing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of appropriate level legal documentation and procedures for small contracts. Principal Duties/Responsibilities of the Position Oversees routine to moderately complex of the contract life cycle for small contracts.
Reviews and interprets contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance by the company and its clients.
Provides interpretation, guidance and risk assessment.
Acts as an interface with the client and negotiates contractual and business related issues. Interfaces with other groups to coordinate on routine contractual and business issue/processes for small contracts. Participates in the preparation and negotiation of contract agreements for small contracts. Oversees the modifications, changes, amendments for contracts. Maintains and revises information obtained from contract libraries for small contracts. Develops and presents information regarding routine contract process to other departments. Recommends and/or initiates the selection and hiring of employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Makes recommendations for salary increases, transfers and terminations to manager. All other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, contract law or related field preferred Six or more years of contract or legal administration experience Two or more years of leadership experience included Experience working with contract management and negotiation Experience working with policies and regulations regarding contracts and legal matters Experience working with internal workings of various departments within the organization Other Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge. Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire). Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner. Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license. Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position. Preferences Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
