Morristown, NJ About the Job The Director, Market AccessContracting reports to the Head of Market Access Contracting. Thisindividual will oversee a team that negotiates and manages marketaccess contracts with Payer, PBM, and GPO customers, spanning bothSpecialty Care and General Medicines business units. Thisindividual will collaborate with internal teams including MarketAccess Shared Services, Account Management, Brand, Value & Access,and Market Access Legal to mitigate financial risks and drive brandobjectives through strategic contract management. This rolerequires independent decision-making and the ability to navigatecomplex contract challenges from customers and stakeholders withinthe pharma value chain. Further, this talented individual will seekto protect Sanofi’s best interests through strategic contractlanguage negotiation and management, while also ensuring patientshave access to our innovative therapies. This leader will alsochampion and embrace the integration of automation and AI-drivensolutions to enhance the contracting lifecycle, reduceadministrative burden, and drive data-informed decision making.

Additionally, driving continuous improvement of contract managementprocesses, and leveraging digital transformation to have broaderscalability within this function [and beyond] will be critical forthis role. This individual will bring fresh, novel thinking to PBMand GPO contracting strategies, identifying creative solutions toaddress emerging market challenges and drive a competitiveadvantage. Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team responsible for negotiatingcontractual language with national and regional managed carecustomers and conducting analytics for select regional accounts.
  • Oversee development and negotiation of Medicare Part D, ManagedMedicaid, and Commercial GPO/PBM agreements, while leveragingexpert understanding of managed care contract components includingdefinitions, payment terms, rebate exclusion criteria, andproduct-specific rebate conditions.
  • Conduct financial modelingand risk analyses for regional direct contracts. Develop strategicrecommendations based on pricing proposals for presentation togovernance committees.
  • Collaborate with Market Access Legal,Account Management, Value & Access, Strategic Pricing, and ContractAnalytics teams to evaluate contracting opportunities and mitigaterisks in response to customer bid requests.
  • Analyze specialtyproduct reimbursement and utilization management criteria againstcontracting objectives.
  • Partner with Strategic Pricing and Value& Access teams on new product/indication launch contractingstrategies.
  • Partner with Contract Operations team to ensureaccurate implementation of pricing terms and rebate payments.
  • Drive continuous improvement of contract management processes.
  • Manage all Legal requests.
  • Foster team development throughstrategic staffing and growth opportunities, encouraging a cultureof innovation and continuous learning.
About You ProfessionalSkills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferablyin business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field.

MBA highly desirable.

  • 7 years of experience in the USpharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on contracting, pricing, orother areas of market access.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skillswith proven ability to build and maintain effective relationshipsacross all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, adept atinterpreting both qualitative and quantitative data to drivedecision making.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching andmentoring, with a track record of fostering team excellence.
