Contract Management Specialist (Experienced or Senior)

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is currently seeking a Contract Management Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to join the team in Huntsville, Alabama. An exciting opportunity has become available to support the Strategic Missile and Defense Systems (SMDS): Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) portfolio. Boeing’s SMDS organization helps protect and deter attacks to our nation, warfighters, and allies worldwide. The GMD system is the United States’ only operationally deployed missile defense program capable of defending the entire U.S. homeland (including Alaska and Hawaii) against long-range ballistic missile attacks. GMD is designed to detect, intercept and destroy long-range ballistic missiles during their midcourse phase of flight. The system provides early detection and tracking during the boost and midcourse phase, as well as target discrimination, precision intercept and destruction of the target through force of collision. GMD is an integral element of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s layered ballistic missile defense architecture. As prime contractor, Boeing designs, produces, integrates, tests and sustains all GMD components deployed across 15 time zones.
Position Responsibilities:
Submit offers and contractually commit the company within the extend of delegated authority Review Statements of Work, terms and conditions, cost estimates and the determination of profit or earnings objectives Support to emerging programs/campaigns and proposals Review and approve agreements with outside parties Perform and approve contractual risk assessments to balance risk and opportunities Coach and mentor employees This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree or higher 3+ years of experience in business related function (including but not limited to: Finance, Contracts, Estimating, Procurement Financial Analysis, Business Operations, Supplier Management, Marketing & Sales) 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite Experience working with working with U.S. Department of Defense contracts Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience working in cross functional teams Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) Experience working with the terms and conditions appropriate for different contract types (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M, IDIQ, etc.) and their proper use Experience as a highly motivated self-starter and self-directed learner with a creative mind, and high attention to detail Ability to think critically, problem solve, negotiate, communicate and use interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate presentation skills to senior managers and/or executives
