The Permit Specialist plays a vital role in supporting project workflows by managing and tracking permits across various municipalities and states. The Permit Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the end-to-end permitting process, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies, and ensuring all required documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. This position involves administrative work, data collection, and collaboration with project managers and city officials to ensure projects remain on track and compliant with local regulations. Key Responsibilities of the
Permit Specialist:
Perform administrative functions related to permit processing Collect data and perform field verifications, including code calls Track permits through the entire lifecycle—from application to closure Manage and organize documentation for permits, inspections, and plan reviews Submit plans and applications required by local building departments across various U.S. regions Communicate with project managers, city staff, and government agencies to facilitate permitting requirements Address permitting issues and provide updates to project managers on permit statuses Coordinate purchase orders and invoices associated with inspections and permit fees Handle multiple projects concurrently within set timelines Support and contribute to team process improvements and workflow efficiency
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
College education is preferred but not required Experience in CAT6, telecommunications, fiber, construction, or structured cabling is a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, and digital documentation tools Strong grammar, written, and verbal communication skills High attention to detail, excellent organizational habits, and strong follow-up ability Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and working well within a collaborative team environment #ind2
