Akerman is seeking a Surveys & Submissions Manager. The location for this position is flexible. The Surveys & Submissions Manager will lead and support the firm’s marketing and visibility initiatives by strategically managing the awards and rankings process. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who will drive submission processes, coordinate across all levels of firm leadership, and deliver comprehensive annual metrics and year-over-year analysis to support strategic planning and business development goals. This position reports to the firm’s Senior Branding Manager and works closely with the client development team to leverage awards and submissions opportunities that highlight the excellence of our lawyers across key practice areas, industries, and regions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the firm’s submissions to key national and international awards and rankings, including Chambers, Legal 500, Law360, Best Lawyers, etc. Strategically collaborate with lawyers, practice group leaders, senior management, and administrative teams to develop high-quality, compelling submissions that maximize brand name recognition. Identify and calendar editorial award nominations and legal surveys. Manage the completion of firmwide quantitative surveys, coordinating contributions across Communications, HR, Finance, and other departments. Maintain and manage the awards and rankings calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and providing regular project status updates to leadership. Track, compile, and analyze awards and ranking results; prepare detailed annual metrics reports and conduct year-over-year performance analyses for key internal meetings. Maintain accurate records of all submissions, supporting documents, and ranking organization communications. Draft and edit firm profiles for directories; review and edit practice group and individual submissions to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with firm messaging. Collaborate with internal communications teams to promote successful awards outcomes through internal communications and external media channels. Conduct peer firm analyses and maintain historical awards data to plan future strategies. Continuously identify and recommend process improvements to optimize efficiency, data integrity, and outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum five (5) years of experience managing awards, surveys, or similar project-driven processes, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to drive complex, deadline-sensitive initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to collaborate strategically and diplomatically with partners, senior management, and administrative staff to achieve superior outcomes. Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distill and highlight key achievements. Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience with data management systems or project management tools is a plus.
