The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in municipal construction contracting , including risk assessment, compliance oversight, proposal development, and hands-on contract negotiation and administration —particularly within manufacturing or equipment supply settings. We are looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to navigate complex municipal procurement processes. A paralegal background or legal training is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Review municipal RFPs, RFQs, and solicitations for risk identification and mitigation strategies. Lead or support contract negotiations, ensuring favorable and compliant terms. Draft, interpret, and manage various contract types, including public works construction agreements , service contracts, and equipment supply agreements. Administer multiple high-value, long-term contracts simultaneously, tracking key deliverables and milestones. Process contract modifications, amendments, and compliance documents in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain meticulous contract files and documentation in alignment with municipal and regulatory standards. Monitor project and vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Collaborate with internal departments including Project Management, Engineering, Finance, and Procurement to align contract execution with project goals. Provide guidance on contract risks and offer proactive solutions during the project lifecycle. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in municipal or public sector construction contracting , preferably with a prime contractor or equipment manufacturer . Strong understanding of public procurement regulations , municipal codes, and construction contract law. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with contract lifecycle management tools a plus. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong writing, reading, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex contract language. Detail-oriented, analytical, and responsive under pressure. Collaborative team player with experience working across departments and functions. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or related field.
