- The Subcontract Administrator will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of subcontract agreements, including drafting, negotiating, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies.
The ideal candidate will be adept at building relationships with subcontractors, streamlining processes, and contributing to the overall success of JANUS Research Groups programs and projects
- Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare, issue, negotiate, and administer subcontracts, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, company policies, and client requirements
- Develop and issue Requests for Proposal (RFP) to potential subcontractors, evaluating responses for compliance, price, and technical capability
- Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to terms, deliverables, schedules, and quality standards
- Review and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions, incorporating flow-down clauses as appropriate
- Collaborate with internal teams, including program managers, legal, and finance, to align subcontract agreements with project goals
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations, including compliance with CMMI Level 3 requirements and performance reviews
- Maintain accurate subcontract documentation in Costpoint, ensuring audit readiness
- Process subcontract modifications, extensions, and closeouts in a timely manner
- Support integration of subcontractor staff and processes during mergers and acquisitions
- Provide guidance to procurement staff on subcontracting best practices and assist with training initiatives
- Basic Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 3+ years of experience in subcontract administration, procurement, or related roles, preferably in a government contracting environment
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other applicable federal acquisition regulations
- Proficiency in Costpoint or similar ERP systems for subcontract and procurement management
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience drafting and administering various subcontract types, including TandM, FFP, and cost-reimbursable
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) and and other government agency contracts
- Familiarity with CMMI Level 3 requirements and supplier evaluation frameworks
- Certification in procurement or contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM, CPSM)
- Advanced skills in Costpoint, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve subcontracting workflows.
