Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Administrative Specialist with prior experience in the insurance industry to join our team. This role requires excellent organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to interpret various insurance documents and support internal operations across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Reviewing, verifying accuracy, and interpreting group medical reinsurance contracts Applying contractual terms and notifying the Stop Loss department of any new stipulations Reviewing fully insured carrier group policies, including Health, STD, LTD, Life, and AD&D for accuracy Verifying internal instructions for new and renewal group policies before in-house distribution Maintaining state licensing for the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and internal staff with Health & Accident Agent Licenses Performing client database entry, updates, and monthly report postings to shared drives Sending and tracking Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) involving Protected Health Information (PHI) for all new vendor connections Maintaining internal spreadsheets for ongoing projects and compliance Communicating with vendors (PPO, PBM, UR, etc.) regarding new and renewing groups Scanning and filing PDF and physical documents into appropriate shared and contract files Collaborating and communicating positively with internal departments and staff
Qualifications:
Prior experience in the insurance industry is required Strong understanding of group health insurance, reinsurance, and related products High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general database systems Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
