The Director of Managed Care provides strategic leadership, financial and administrative oversight of managed care contracting and single case agreements with third-party payors, and contract-related business development on behalf of health system in concert with the V.P. of Patient Financial Services and CFO. Directs and manages the technical/operational aspects of the managed care services provided by the system. Maintains effective relationships with payers to ensure payment issues are resolved in a timely manner. Plans, develops, coordinates and implements policies, and procedures to comply with hospital criteria. Leads all aspects of health system managed care strategies including providing access analysis and operational compliance and supporting decision makers with analysis related to reimbursement and renewals. Primarily responsibility for all third-party payor agreements, specifically the areas of negotiation, interpretation, management, renewal, internal communication and implementation. The Director of Managed Care works in concert with the Corporate Operations Team and facility CEOs to align managed care hospital opportunities and corporate support services with the company’s overall Mission, Vision and Values to be a leading and respected healthcare system. This is not a remote position. Qualifications/ Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health care management or business administration preferred.
- Five – Eight years of Managed Care experience.
- Demonstrated competencies in the areas of judgment, adaptability, collaboration, influence, drive for results and customer focus.
- Advanced knowledge of managed care.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively and positively in English.
- Must be able to articulately communicate, interpret and explain complex information and comprehend written communication positively.

- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines as required.
