Description of Work The North Carolina Department of Revenue is accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist II in the Examination Division. This position works out of Raleigh Headquarters and is hybrid remote. The Administrative Specialist II in Central Exams serves as a first point of contact for taxpayers. This position provides timely and accurate customer service and resolves and researches issues.
Primary responsibilities include:
- High call volume customer service in response to select audit projects
- Process individual income tax returns
- Data entry in spreadsheets and databases
- Account research
- Respond to telephone calls and correspondence received from taxpayers and their representatives, which includes resolving tax issues and problems Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Demonstrated experience using spreadsheet and word-processing software
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
