As an integral part of the research administration community and in support of the university’s overall research mission, this position requires an unwavering commitment to service and excellence in a deadline-driven environment.. Due to the ever-evolving nature of the work and peak proposal seasons, this position requires a willingness to flex work schedules to accommodate unforeseen challenges or high volume, and may require occasional overtime, subject to management prior approval.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Pre-award:
Completes pre-award administration of grant &/or contract activities.
Synthesizing sponsor guidelines to identify proposal requirements and providing comprehensive checklists and templates for use by proposal team members.
Organizes proposal, renewal and resubmission applications.
Create, route and monitor proposal forms.
Handle all communication and follow-up with PI concerning additional information required by sponsor or University to finalize proposal
Completes entire application for smaller, less-complicated, simple, standard proposals.
Post-award:
Assists in post-award administration of research grants &/or contracts, e.g., labor distributions, time and effort reporting, purchases and reimbursements
Monitor routine financial transactions, which may include researching and resolving discrepancies
Prepares cost transfer forms to correct charges on sponsored projects.
Assists in preparing audit documentation
Participates in account close out activities
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and three years of related experience or equivalent combination of higher education and experience totaling seven years.
Experience in college or university business office.
Additional related experience and/or higher education.
