Job Description

International Agreements Administrator Penn State Global’s Partnership Agreements team is seeking candidates for a full-time International Agreements Administrator (IAA) position. The individual in this position will serve as a key resource for advising faculty members and administrators interested in initiating an international partnership agreement. He/she will be involved in drafting and processing international agreements, monitoring and maintaining Penn State’s agreement portfolio, which includes data-based analytics, reporting, and evaluation. Working closely with faculty members, administrators, and other institutional stakeholders, the IAA will accept and review International Agreement Proposals, prepare draft agreements between Penn State and international partners, and facilitate the review, approval, and signing of those agreements. Often, the documents will be based on existing Penn State templates with standard and required terminology. The IAA will also steward reviews of partner-proposed agreements to ensure Penn State terms and conditions are included. The IAA will follow established protocols and guidelines to track agreement statuses, monitor timelines, and maintain records in the central agreement database, ensuring procedural efficiency. The IAA will contribute to the annual report of international agreements and ad hoc analytical reports on agreement and partnership activity data of interest. The IAA will coordinate with Central Procurement, Export Compliance, General Counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure that all pending agreements comply with Penn State policies and are approved by the appropriate regulatory offices before signing. The position reports to the Associate Director for Partnership Agreements and may include other related duties, such as data manipulation, analysis, and visualization, as assigned. The position requires regular communication with faculty and administrators and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a challenging, process-oriented, fast-paced environment with a broad base of constituents including university staff, academic leaders, international institutions, and foreign government officials. The position minimally requires a bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The preferred candidate will have experience working with legal documentation or contracts, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating international agreements while ensuring compliance with policy and applicable regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under deadline pressure are essential. Familiarity with academic policies in an institution of higher education and experience with standard office automation software is required; experience with data manipulation and document management using Excel or CRMs is preferred. Applications must include a cover letter and a resume as well as completion of the online application. The office is located on the University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. Penn State Global is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing equity, respect, and belonging in all its forms. We embrace individual uniqueness, as well as a culture of belonging that supports both broad and specific equity initiatives, leverages the educational and institutional benefits of inclusion in society, and provides opportunities for engagement intended to help all members of the community thrive.
