The Director, Consumer Insights plays a pivotalleadership role in guiding brand, product, and innovationstrategies through deep understanding of consumer behavior, markettrends, and category dynamics. This individual will serve as astrategic partner to cross-functional teams, including Marketing,R D, Innovation, and Sales, ensuring that consumer-centricthinking informs every business decision. With a strong blend ofanalytical acumen and creative thinking, this leader will translatedata into actionable insights to drive sustainable growth acrossbrands and categories. In this role, you will lead a team ofinsights professionals and oversee research programs that capturethe voice of the consumer at every stage of the productlifecycle—from early innovation through to in-market performance.
You will ensure the organization remains ahead of evolving consumerpreferences and competitive shifts, using both traditional andcutting-edge methodologies, including advanced analytics, sociallistening and behavioral science. Key Responsibilities Lead thedevelopment and execution of consumer insights strategies thatinform brand positioning, innovation pipelines, marketingcampaigns, and portfolio management Collaborate with marketing andleadership team members to embed consumer insights into strategicplanning and decision-making processes Manage and mentor ahigh-performing team of insights managers and analysts Oversee thedesign, execution, and analysis of qualitative and quantitativeresearch projects (e.g., concept testing, shopper insights,advertising/media effectiveness, in-home use tests, pack designvalidation, behavioral segmentation) Serve as a thought leader andinternal consultant on consumer behavior, emerging trends, andcultural shifts that influence purchase decisions Partner withanalytics, media, and digital teams to integrate first-party andthird-party data for a holistic view of the consumer journeyInfluence and guide innovation strategy by identifying whitespaces, unmet needs, and opportunity areas for growth Ensureresearch partners and agencies deliver best-in-class methodologies,insights, and value Advocate for a test-and-learn mindset using A/Btesting, agile research, and rapid experimentation techniquesQualifications Bachelor’s degree in in Marketing, Business, DataScience, Psychology, Sociology, or related field; Master’s degreepreferred 10 years of experience in consumer insights, marketresearch, customer analytics, business intelligence, or marketingstrategy, preferably within a large CPG or FMCG organization 5years of experience serving in a managerial capacity incustomer/consumer insights Proven success in leading large-scaleresearch programs and cross-functional initiatives Strong knowledgeof various research methodologies (quantitative, qualitative,syndicated and behavioral) Excellent communication and storytellingskills, with the ability to translate data into compellingnarratives for executive audiences Deep understanding of consumertrends, cultural dynamics, and shopper behavior in omni-channelenvironments Experience with advanced analytics, data visualizationtools, and CRM or loyalty data integration (can develop andmanipulate complex spreadsheets and data sets) Demonstratedleadership capabilities, including team development, stakeholdermanagement, and strategic influence What We Offer Base salary andbonus program Medical, dental, vision, life insurance effective ondate of hire Generous 401(k) Plan Defined Contribution Plan Paidvacation and paid holidays Tuition reimbursement Professionalgrowth and development programs to help advance your career!
