Pickleball Manager/Pro 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 8505 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32217 SUMMARY Developing, supervising and being accountable for all pickleball programming. This includes the general tasks of generating membership revenue, providing free programming, providing customer service, expanding teaching revenue, top notch maintenance of the pickleball courts, supervising other pickleball related staff, planning special events, attending meetings, demonstrating sound fiscal management, developing publicity and visioning/program expansion. The Pickleball Manager/Pro is responsible for delivering the highest level of service to our members exemplifying professionalism and ensuring we adhere to our mission statement. The Pickleball Manager/Pro services guests, as well as new and existing members with equal priority, and ensures that all Pickleball staff have the education, skills and motivation to do the same. They generate excitement and interest in Pickleball and Racquet Sports programs and implement and execute JCA systems and procedures that focus on generating new members and retaining existing members. They will actively recruit, train and lead a team of Pickleball staff that will do the same. The Pickleball Manager/Pro will work in conjunction with the Tennis Pro assisting in building the revenue base to targeted levels, ensuring that the Pickleball area is always appropriately staffed and assuring that we offer beneficial programs and services. The Pickleball Manager/Pro is responsible for carrying out our commitment to servicing our members in the best environment possible with the friendliest staff, most educated members, cleanest facility, most ethical business practices and state of the art equipment. The Pickleball Manager/Pro will also be fully knowledgeable about department operations and emergency procedures while supporting policies and procedures established by the JCA. This person has the responsibility of being responsive to members and being a resource for members’ and staffs’ needs regarding programs and classes while in the JCA’s facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruit, hire, and train all pickleball staff. Supervise and schedule pickleball staff. Develop, implement, coordinate, supervise and evaluate all pickleball programs. Respond to member inquiries. Develop the promotional and marketing materials for the pickleball department in conjunction with Marketing Department. Motivate and educate pickleball staff on customer service and sales. Demonstrate ability to plan programs. Organize, create, and implement age appropriate pickleball classes, clinics, and related programs/activities for adults and children within the JCA agency according to a programming schedule that best responds to the needs of the JCA membership. Ensure timely delivery of programs/lessons. Quality control of pickleball programs. Manage pickleball courts and surrounding areas, along with locker rooms. Order equipment and supplies within budget and complete purchase orders. Oversee equipment repairs and maintenance. Work together as a team with all departments. Display a high level of expertise in pickleball. Demonstrate ability to personally teach and communicate with a variety of age groups. Demonstrate ability to interpret knowledge of exercise physiology to guide and encourage healthy and safe participation in pickleball. First aid and CPR skills and certification will be a part of an in-service training program. Demonstrate ability to lead all levels of pickleball classes. Systematic response to incoming e-mails and members questions (24 hours). Know the competition almost as well as their own department. Attend staff, committee, special event meetings, and/or events as assigned. Ensure facilities are in top notch condition in relation to court surface, aesthetics, landscaping, nets, and any other related areas with pickleball. Attend and market department’s programs at JCA related fairs, seminars, or large events/programs. Consistently offer the highest level of personalized member service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic and helpful attitude. Integrate safety compliance within the pickleball area. Demonstrate understanding of all points outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Assist in preparing annual budget:
projecting payroll expenditures, repairs and maintenance, supplies and capital improvements.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associates in Arts degree. CPR/First Aid/AED Certified. 2+ years of being a pickleball pro experience in pickleball and racquet sport industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability in English to communicate verbally and in writing to members and staff. Write reports and maintain records and documents; and write promotional materials. Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics and proposals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures, compute percent and proportions.
REASONING ABILITY
General intelligence and decision-making skills. Creative thinking, implementation and promotion of new and existing programs.

JCA. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires long periods of standing or sitting. Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, typing. Grasping and gripping movements. Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person. Employee expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance. Use of personal safety equipment required.
