This role oversees all aspects of retail, café, and community-facing activities, ensuring an exceptional guest experience that aligns with our brand mission. The Market Manager is responsible for managing Mercola Market staff, maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance, and driving sales and engagement through merchandising, events, and team development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Brand Ambassadors to provide top-tier service. Schedule, train, and develop team to meet performance and brand standards. Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment. Conduct regular team meetings and training refreshers. Retail & Café Operations Oversee daily operations of the Mercola Market and Solspring Café, ensuring cleanliness, product availability, and food safety compliance. Ensure all food and beverage items are prepared and served to quality standards. Support Brand Ambassadors in barista and food prep responsibilities during peak times. Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage vendor relationships. Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and effectively. Customer Experience & Brand Representation Serve as a brand steward, ensuring that customer interactions reflect Mercola’s values and wellness-focused mission. Lead by example in delivering warm, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service. Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and empathy. Support community engagement efforts, including in-store events and local outreach. Sales & Merchandising Drive in-store sales by ensuring appealing product displays and accurate signage. Partner with Marketing and other teams to implement promotional strategies. Track KPIs such as revenue, foot traffic, and customer satisfaction, reporting results and action plans. Compliance & Administration Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and local business regulations. Maintain accurate records of staff scheduling, payroll, and operational reporting. Manage opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and POS systems.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service management. Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain customer-facing teams. Familiarity with barista operations and food handling standards. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a fast-paced, customer-focused role in a retail/café setting. Standing, walking, lifting (up to 40 lbs), and light food prep are regular aspects of the role. Role is fully on-site in Cape Coral, FL.
