The General Manager of Ophthalmology oversees the operations of multiple ophthalmology practices in South Florida. This position will focus on enhancing operational efficiencies, improving patient care, and driving revenue growth across all our locations. The General Manager will collaborate closely with clinical teams, administrative staff, and business leaders to ensure that business delivers outstanding patient experiences while achieving financial and operational excellence. Essential Functions Oversee the daily operations of several Ophthalmology clinics, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Develop and implement efficient operational processes to streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies. Optimize staffing, scheduling, and resource management to meet both clinical and business goals. Ensure full compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards across all locations. Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue generation and increase profitability. Regularly review key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient volume, revenue, and cost control to drive financial success. Partner with physicians and administrative teams to identify new service offerings and areas for business development. Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure fiscal health of the practices. Oversee billing and insurance processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely collections. Lead team of ophthalmologists, clinicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence. Provide ongoing training and development programs to ensure all staff is knowledgeable and up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices. Ensure all locations provide exceptional patient care, ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction and positive outcomes. Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute long-term strategic plans for growth, expansion, and market positioning of Ophthalmology Family Entities in South Florida. Conduct regular market analysis and competitor assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and differentiation. Implement innovative technology and service offerings that align with industry trends and patient needs. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, insurance providers, and community partners to expand the patient base. Serve as the primary point of contact between Ophthalmology Family Entities and VSP Vision leadership, providing regular updates on progress toward key operational and financial goals.

Requirements:

Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience Ten or more years experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals. Proven ability to drive revenue growth and operational improvements in a multi-location healthcare environment. Strong financial skills, with experience in budgeting, revenue cycle management, and financial reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of healthcare regulations, industry best practices, and compliance standards. Ability to build effective relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to implement strategic and process improvements.
