The Market Manager supports and leads company objectives thatcontribute to a Team Member oriented, strong Company culture thatemphasizes building customer loyalty and experience, developingdiverse high performing teams, and driving continuous improvement.
Provide leadership and direction to District Managers and teams todrive business results and profitability. Plans, controls, anddirects the activities of an average of 4-6 districts with fullprofit and loss responsibility. Provides guidance and support todistrict management on staff development, operational excellence,and profitability. Provides and models respectful service.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains high standards forstore environment experience, store conditions, and merchandiseplacement; store signage, inventory mix, and proper merchandisedisplay to drive sales, according to company directives. Recruit,hire, manage, and train District Managers for future growth.Develop District talent and ensure resources perform at peaklevels; determine appropriate DM development program, leadperformance appraisal process, succession planning and talentdevelopment programs for districts. Monitor, assess and evaluateselected districts (4-6) through sales, operating cost, inventory,shrink, cash controls, trend and other data analysis. Provideadvice and counsel to District Managers on appropriate action plansand activities to meet operational and financial goals. Partnerswith Regional Director of Operations (RD) to manage operationsbudget through supervision and guidance of District Managers.
Reviews and interprets financial and operational information asappropriate. Coordinates periodic financial and/or operationalanalyses and prepares financial/business reports for StoreOperations on a regular basis. Mentors and assists DistrictManagers with appropriate staffing levels for current and projectedneeds through use of established programs and development of directreports through succession planning process and tools. Manages anddevelops talent; provides opportunities, guidance, and feedbackregarding adequate bench strength for future openings.
PositionRequirements:
Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed;Valid Driver’s License. Ability to travel locally and overnight asneeded up to 75%.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor degree(or equivalent work experience) preferred. Five (5) plus years ofretail experience in a senior leadership role, which includesmulti-store oversight and the management of others who havemulti-store field responsibility. Financial and retail managementskills, including the ability to interpret operating statements andreporting data, manage budgets, manage inventory, maintain toughexpense control and manage merchandise effectively. Evidence ofbuilding a team and motivating a large and diverse organization ofTeam Members. Proven leadership and the ability to highlight,develop and retain top performers.
Job Related Skills:
Excellentverbal communication, written communication, and interpersonalskills, as well as strong planning, collaboration andorganizational skills. Proven ability to react under pressure,apply good judgment in ambiguous situations, and beflexible/adaptable as appropriate.
Computer Skills:
MicrosoftOffice and mobile technology devices. This position is located inMiami, FL and surrounding area.
