General Overview ofRole To plan, direct and supervise year-round camp programming,including off season facility use. Oversee staff members.
EssentialFunctions:
Exhibit Mastery of and willingness to complete all skills andjob duties of program staff whom the position supervises. Provide leadership, support and supervision to employees,proactively addressing any patterns of concerns. Define camp goals and/or define plan program to reflect campgoals. Create and carry out a system for recruiting guests and staffutilizing brochures, telephone calls, etc. Develop partnershipswith members of the local community, families and funding sourcesin order to expand opportunities and facilitate programgrowth. Oversee planning of orientation and in-service trainings. Supervise ordering of food, supplies and equipment; arrange forproper distribution and ensure inventory of food, supplies andequipment is maintained. Set and supervise office procedures. Develop routines, schedules and procedures for campoperation. Assign staff responsibilities. Oversee program operations and monitor outcomes to ensurehighest quality of services are provided to individualsserved. Conduct appropriate and comprehensive follow up to allincidents and issues within the program. Maintain and review records and evaluations of all programs,operations, staff and facilities. Prepare evaluation for current season, including inventories,staff evaluations, guest evaluations, and recommendations for thefollowing summer. Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergencyprocedures. Organize or approve field trips out of camp for program,supplies and crisis management. Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to thecomplete supervision of all guests and staff. Prepare payroll for full time and seasonal staff. In partnership with accounting, oversee annual budget processand monthly financial reports, proactively and creativelyaddressing any budgetary concerns. Provide an atmosphere that fosters teamwork, good morale andcooperation in staff. Provide an atmosphere for developing good morals and well-beingof guests. Promote use of camp off season to assist in fiscalresponsibility. Ensure rental groups use facilities in approved manner. Other duties as assigned or required.
Education/Experiencerequired:
- BA/BS in Camp Administration or related fieldrequired.
- 5+ years of experience working in a camp environmentor 5+ years working with developmentally disabled individuals.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
Lifeguard certification required. Lifeguard instructorpreferred. Experience with high/low ropes preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
