WHAT YOU’LL DO
The M&A Integration Special Projects Manager is responsible for driving the diligence and successful execution of integration activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This individual will lead cross-functional projects that support strategic initiatives, align newly acquired entities with company objectives, and optimize operational efficiencies. The role requires a highly organized, analytical, and adaptable professional with a strong background in program management, change leadership, and business process integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the diligence process as it pertains to strategic acquisitions and divestitures working closely with third parties and across functions (i.e Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, Sales, Marketing). Lead and manage special integration projects across functions to ensure seamless transitions and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute detailed integration plans. Identify risks and interdependencies, develop mitigation strategies, and manage issue resolution throughout the integration lifecycle. Create and maintain project documentation, including charters, work plans, timelines, and status updates. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and integration milestones, providing clear and timely reporting to executive leadership. Serve as a point of contact between acquired companies and internal teams to ensure alignment and clear communication. Support cultural integration efforts, including change management and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Conduct post-merger reviews and lessons learned to continuously improve integration playbooks and processes. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on critical priorities and deadlines. Drive strategic initiatives or corporate special projects not directly tied to M&A as assigned by executive leadership.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Strategy, or a related field. 4-8 years of experience in M&A integration, management consulting, corporate development, or program/project management. Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
MBA or equivalent advanced degree. PMP, Six Sigma, or related project management certification. Experience with global or multi-national integration projects. Familiarity with due diligence processes and legal/compliance aspects of M&A.
