Job Summary:
Project Manager – Goal & Strategy Development, DSE Sustainability The Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) Sustainability project manager for goal and strategy development and portfolio planning will support the development and review process for business-specific 2030 sustainability commitments, strategies, and program portfolios. This position will leverage robust project management, portfolio planning, and content creation skills, collaborating across DSE sustainability programs (emissions, water, waste, and biodiversity) and cross-functional working groups. Disney Signature Experiences include Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures and Expeditions, Disney Institute, and Storyliving by Disney.
You Will Have:
Strategic Alignment Perform research and benchmarking to identify industry trends Support impact assessment efforts, synthesizing diverse inputs including environmental, financial, and operational analyses. Support strategic planning and prioritization of sustainability projects across Disney Signature Experiences, including thought partnership Partner with leaders and sustainability program managers to help develop business commitments, strategies, metrics, and a portfolio of efforts to achieve the 2030 goals Support identification of creative opportunities for DSE to demonstrate leadership through sustainability. Portfolio-wide Communication & Collaboration Ensure portfolio wide visibility of schedule and target dates across programs and lines of business Support in the annual budgeting and program planning processes Create portfolio presentations and reports, supporting biannual program reviews and quarterly program updates with finance, DSE leadership, and TWDC corporate partners. Actively engage with stakeholders to gain support for the sustainability portfolio or specific projects, and solicit input to improve program Cultivate trust-based partnerships and clear communication with leaders, and key partners including finance and other teams to collaborate across the portfolio Partner closely with DSE Sustainability Measurement & Analytics Team to support creation of monthly dashboards in alignment with portfolio adjustments Supports regular portfolio level updates for executive review and approval
You Will:
3+ years of experience in sustainability, portfolio planning, project management or related field Exceptional project management, planning, and analytical skills Demonstrated strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to details Demonstrated ability to synthesize diverse information, qualitative and quantitative Shown capability to manage and drive strategic problem solving and the development of practical business solutions Proven ability to communicate in a highly organized, persuasive, confident and credible manner when dealing with a range of audiences Proven self-starter, recognizing when projects need to involve multiple partners and decisions need to be made at other levels within the organization. Proven facilitation skills that can support educating others on strategic and tactical efforts. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and personal interaction styles Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining effective business relationships Demonstrated ability to manage change, handle multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with influencing and facilitating strategic planning and program development Experience developing or executing decarbonization, zero waste, water stewardship, or biodiversity strategies. Strong understanding of our guest/cast/crew experience as it relates to sustainability. Previous experience working within DSE with proven relationships. Familiarity with Smartsheet, PowerBI, PowerPoint and other program planning and visualization tools Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in sustainability, science, engineering, business or related field Preferred Education Master’s Degree in a related field Sustainability or project management certification
