Investor Relations is looking for an energetic, self-motivated team member to help investors understand NextEra Energy’s strategy, performance and the dynamics of the energy industry. Responsibilities include developing and managing financial and valuation models, conducting research into market and company developments and cultivating relationships with investors, analysts and colleagues. Additional expectations include providing analytic research and support towards communicating quarterly earnings results, conceptualizing and producing materials for investment conferences and company-hosted events.
The Principal Analyst works closely with the NextEra Energy Investor Relations Director in direct consultation with executive leadership and senior management across the organization. The selected candidate will interact frequently with NextEra Energy’s sell-side analysts and retail and institutional investors. The job requires a broad knowledge of the energy industry, a familiarity with the investment community, an ability to independently execute complex tasks with a sharp attention to detail, an ability to clearly discuss all aspects of the company with key internal and external stakeholders, exceptional written and verbal communications skills, and an ability to draft effective presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and executes the company’s communication strategy with the investment community in coordination with Investor Relations Director
Collaborates closely with colleagues across the business to fully understand NextEra Energy’s business and strategy
Effectively develops presentation materials depicting the company’s investment proposition, strategy, and financial results
Identifies, analyzes, and communicates potential impacts on the company’s financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or forecasting models
Day-to-day management of communication with shareholders and analysts, serving as a point of contact and representative of NextEra Energy to investors and financial institutions

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of broad business/energy/finance experience with strong understanding of financial statements and corporate finance
Passion for investor relations and for learning and telling the NextEra Energy story
Strong financial modeling skills with Excel and preparation of executive-ready PowerPoint presentations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear and compelling narratives
Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and high-visibility environment
Professional and comfortable in executive sessions
Strong internal collaborator who works well in a flat team environment
