This leader is responsible for leadership and oversight of managed care contracting and negotiation of hospital and physician managed care contract reimbursement rates, structure, language and terms in conjunction with established goals. This leader is also responsible for advising and presenting contracting strategies to senior management based on the organization’s market strength, market trends, market rates and organizational clinical integration efforts, as well as providing the oversight and implementation, creation and maintenance of managed care contracts, including interdepartmental operationalization and enforcement of third-party contract provisions through payer escalations and JOC meetings. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior while ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational goals. Required Qualifications Require a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or other relevant area. Master’s degree and/or CPA is preferred. Require a minimum of five (5) years of managed care contracting experience in a similar size health care system or large health care payor, of which two (2) years were at a level of management. Preferred Qualifications Prefer demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with payors and leverage interpersonal influences to achieve organizational goals. Prefer demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and deliver high quality service to all internal and external customers. Prefer demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring by guiding individuals and teams towards desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering industry-leading quality services. Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a health care delivery system, industry contracting practices and administration, and contract analysis. Prefer demonstrated organizational and time management skills to maximize productivity and outcomes. Prefer demonstrated proficiency in PC-based software, the ability to instruct staff on systems, and develop complex reports. Prefer demonstrated skills in the area of developing and obtaining strategic objectives during negotiations.
