The Support Services Manager collaborates with interdepartmental staff at Shepherd Center to ensure continuity of patient care and services. This role interacts with patients, their families, and caregivers to help create a positive and pleasing environment for patient care and interaction. The Support Services Manger contributes to managing, enhancing, and improving the quality of care at Pathways.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This section provides the primary or core tasks that must be performed. This list defines essential functions for the purposes of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. The Support Services Manager provides consistent leadership and support to patients, families, and staff.
Accountabilities:
Recruits and hires appropriate staff. Develops and implements appropriate staff scheduling, call outs, vacation, and holiday schedules to meet patient care and administrative/building needs. Oversees admissions check in process for all Pathways clients Participates in Program Evaluation and Development for Shepherd Pathways. Ensures that buildings/vehicles comply with all codes and requirements of outside agencies, appropriate documentation maintained i.e., fire alarm inspections, sprinkler systems, testing of hood systems in kitchens, fire extinguishers, grease trap, and IT related needs. Supervises and monitors Post-Acute Facility operations for Shepherd buildings specific to safety and maintenance in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined. Pathways representative for appropriate committees as assigned. Reconciliation of invoices, revenue, and expense reports, and assists with annual budget process.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university Master’s Degree preferred
REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at orientation or within 3 months of employment. Behavioral De-Escalation Training at orientation or within 3 months of employment Valid Georgia Driver’s License with clean driving record
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience. Two years of post-acute rehabilitation experience is mandatory. Two years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership interest and abilities.
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS
Must be capable of supervising staff, assessing program needs and developing strategic planning and implementation with program director. Must have demonstrated leadership, public relations, writing and communication, physician relations and customer service skills . Completes orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date. Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements by determined due date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time or exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
