Job Description

Senior Company Leadership Advisor 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 204 N Grand St, Mexico, MO 65265 Directly supervise, train, assist and evaluate three to four CLAs assigned to his/her company. Provide direct supervision of cadets’ well-being including physical, emotional, and spiritual. Mentor cadets in the development and execution of individual leadership, time management, ethics, and interpersonal communication skills. Administer discipline to cadets in violation of Academy rules set forth by the Cadet Handbook. Supervise, develop, and train cadet leaders/officers to ensure there is proper, consistent, and fair treatment of all cadets. Provide guidance to cadets in the areas of academic assistance, leadership, physical well-being, moral character, and self-discipline. Promote healthy life choices, proper personal hygiene, and responsible decision making. Supervise barracks life for cadets to include managing conflict and providing emotional support. Set exemplary personal example in both appearance and conduct to include military courtesies along with executing the mission of MMA through positive role-modeling and constructive interaction with cadets. Ensure prompt responses to parents’ questions, inquiries and concerns. Conduct risk assessments as necessary for cadet activities and stop any activity that potentially jeopardizes cadet safety. Implement appropriate disciplinary action to maintain the good order and discipline of the corps of cadets in accordance with academy policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensure the proper care of company barracks, property (Academy and cadet), and timely submission of work orders for damaged, broken, or malfunctioning items. Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the Company Leadership Advisor Performance Expectations (encl.). Strong communication skills. Ability to relate and communicate with boys/young men and their parents. Attention to detail, effective reporting, and writing to maintain accurate logs. Time management – ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Mature, professional, patient and stable demeanor when dealing with cadet behavior and discipline issues. Passion to want to make a positive difference in young men’s lives. Prior military experience preferred – Honorable service as verified on DD214. Bachelor’s degree preferred (will consider certain military qualification in lieu of degree). Abstinence from the use of tobacco and profanity when on duty. The Senior Company Leadership Advisor (SCLA) supervises three to four Company Leadership Advisors (CLA) and is responsible for an assigned company, designated company barracks and property, and the safety, security, health, and welfare of those cadets assigned to the company. In addition to supervising CLAs, SCLAs supervise cadets and advise cadet leaders in the residential life setting and other activities outside the classroom. The SCLA works closely with other company SCLAs and CLAs to ensure a coordinated and consistent effort in supervising all cadets and enforcing Academy standards. This position requires an individual who is a leader, teacher, mentor and role model for young men. SCLAs and CLAs are expected to develop productive relationships with cadets, families, teaching faculty, and coaches.
