Job Description

This is a job for an Operations Manager with a company in the Jackson, MS area.

Job Summary:

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs operational activities related to the distribution or transmission of natural gas within an assigned geographic area.

Responsibilities:

Ensures all activities are performed regarding safe operational policies and procedures to protect the employee, the system, and the public. Manages the safe and efficient administration of one or more of the following: Construction/Maintenance, Service, Meter Reading, and strategic partnerships with Marketing/Business Development, Technical Services, Rates/Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, HR, and Public Affairs. Develop and monitor functional area budgets to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Responsible for key cost center financial metrics. Manages functional area budgets. Ensures accurate and timely forecasting of projections and efficient utilization of resources. Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, trains, motivates, and evaluates the performance of assigned employees. Leads as a culture champion by promoting our vision, strategy, AtmoSpirit principles, and supporting wellness and safety initiatives. Recommend strategic plans to promote organizational efficiencies and provide for continuous improvement. Oversee and observe developments and trends and take necessary action as required. Monitors and evaluates all activities within assigned jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, and Company policies, procedures, standards, and safety requirements. Ensures compliance with internal processes and procedures. Maintains and cultivates relationships with state and local officials by participating in appropriate professional and civic activities to promote a positive company image. May represent the Company to regulatory authorities, public officials, customers, and the public involving company matters.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and five years of related experience, industry including two years in a supervisory capacity; or A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and seven years of related experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity. Valid driver’s license.
