Business Development Analyst – EAE 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Flowood, MS 39232 Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. seeks a full-time Business Development Analyst to join our Business Development/MLP team. The Business Development Analyst is highly skilled in financial analysis with a firm grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proficient in Excel and familiar with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, with experience interpreting and presenting complex data. Adept at using ERP systems and communicating financial insights effectively to diverse audiences while supporting strategic decision-making through critical thinking and problem-solving.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s in business administration with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or Analytics Two years of experience in a finance-related role preferred Experience developing reports in Tableau or Power BI preferred SAP experience preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Analyze and interpret complex financial data to prepare comprehensive reports and actionable insights for internal stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead the coordination and consolidation of key financial metrics across multiple business units to develop accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts that drive organizational performance and cash flow planning

Financial Systems Subject Matter Expert:

Act as a liaison with IT to translate business requirements into dynamic reporting solutions. This will include maintaining and enhancing reporting capabilities using tools such as

Tableau and Power BI Cost Reporting & Analysis:

Maintain detailed, location-specific tracking of raw material costs; identify and communicate key variances and trends to management to support cost control and margin improvement initiatives

Business Reporting Consolidation:

Aggregate and analyze a wide range of sales, financial, and operational data to meet the diverse reporting needs of the business unit, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness. Will include delivering insightful reporting on sales performance and income statement key performance indicators (KPIs) to business leaders, enabling data-driven performance management

Forecast Variance Analysis:

Conduct in-depth reviews of monthly forecasts compared to actual results; provide meaningful variance analysis and insights to improve future projections

Contract Management:

Assist Sales and Operations team in maintaining various operational agreements to ensure customers are properly vetted before operating Ergon’s assets Will require occasional travel (>10%) Why Ergon Inc.?
