Carolina Caring is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our Director of Hospice House. This key leadership role will provide oversight and support to both of Carolina Caring’s Hospice Houses— Catawba Valley Hospice House located in Newton, NC, and Sherrills Ford Hospice House in Sherrills Ford, NC. As Director, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of both locations, ensuring that patients and their families receive the highest quality of compassionate end-of-life care in a supportive, home-like environment. Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – bachelor’s or master’s degree strongly preferred. Must have a current, unrestricted North Carolina nursing license. Must maintain CPR certification.

Experience:

Must have five to seven years of clinical experience to include a minimum of one-year acute hospital experience and two years of hospice/home health experience required. Hospice inpatient facility experience and at least two years supervisory/management health care experience preferred; must have strong understanding of end-of- life decisions and the ability to understand complex equipment and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in assigned Hospice House. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
