ABOUT THE TEAM
The Mission Support Services team at SSU is performing critical support to USSOCOM formations and desires to share those capabilities across the DoD and broader U.S. government interagency. Our mission is to enhance warfighter capabilities through expert support by delivering Intelligence, Operations, and realistic mission focused training. We prioritize deploying highly qualified professionals to deliver transformative solutions, ensuring that warfighters worldwide receive the advanced capabilities they need to succeed. Our ideal candidate will join the team in Fayetteville, NC.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Build a cohesive, data-driven strategy within the relevant DOD Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Marine Corps programs and PEO Special Operations Forces (SOF) Warrior to penetrate, expand, and deliver at scale SSU’s capabilities. Develop and maintain close working relationships with key SSU internal teams and stakeholders to identify and shape new business opportunities, proactively communicate and resolve program issues, and provide strategic direction to program teams across mission operations, product engineering, and manufacturing Lead the strategic expansion of SSU’s mission support services portfolio. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Department of Defense and other government agencies, both domestically and internationally Foster a culture of trust, open communications, customer focus, innovation, and continuous improvement Lead the expansion of SSU’s offerings beyond the U.S. Army, targeting other military branches and allied forces globally Develop and coordinate programmatic funding and growth with direct coordination with our Strategy team and adjacent business lines Deliver on financial performance commitments and build strategic market growth initiatives
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is a proven growth leader who has demonstrated experience in shaping and capturing complex training and services contracts. Demonstrated knowledge in defense acquisitions and scaling large Program of Record defense program growth, either from Government or industry experience Intimate understanding of requirements generation, acquisition strategy development, programming, planning, and budgeting cycles A technically minded leader who can build, adapt, and implement new and innovative approaches to market Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within defense and intelligence community to drive capability adoption Demonstrated high-energy leader who will drive performance and exhibit strong management skills with a high level of emotional intelligence Excellent writing, communication skills with experience briefing senior executives and customers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing to travel up to 25% Minimum of 10 years of relevant Program Management, acquisitions or business development/sales capture experience in the government and/or private sector The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
