This position has direct supervision of 3 regional program specialists which requires daily oversight and monitoring of projects and staff assignments. This includes providing technical assistance to staff related to their assigned work in supporting the EMS systems in North Carolina.
This position is instrumental in assisting staff, county governments, EMS systems, EMS providers, and hospitals in developing operational plans by identifying resources and utilizing these resources in the most efficient and effective manner.
Oversight of the NCOEMS Systems Workgroup
Participation if needed in the Basic Life Support Competition
This position is responsible for conducting audits and ensuring compliance with licensing, permitting, and approval requirements. This position is also responsible for supervising investigations involving allegations against credentialed personnel, licensed providers, and approved educational institutions.
Serves on call in 24/7 rotation during an activation of the State Emergency Team (SERT) in the State Emergency Operations Center, Regional Coordination Center, and/or other assigned operational site
Assess emergent situations and provide emergency medical resources, as requested, for emergency activations or responses across the state and to acknowledge, verify, and respond to requests for information.
Provide situation reports via information sharing platforms as necessary to keep NCOEMS, SMRS, Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions, and partner organizations informed.
Manage all support requests in coordination with the State Emergency Response Team
Provide direction and coordination of emergency medical services as necessary until the situation is resolved, relief is provided, or functions are assumed by the established lead.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, public administration, health care treatment, industrial management or technology, or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in training or health related field, or administrative management, preferably in emergency medical services; or High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and seven years of experience in training or administrative management or health related field, three of which must be in direct provision of emergency medical services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Special Requirement must be EMT-Paramedic certified.
