Assistant Director 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1500 4th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 Assistant Director The Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center (GACTC) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our dynamic team as the Assistant Director. The GACTC is a flourishing institution dedicated to providing high-quality career and technical education to approximately 1100 secondary students from our eight member school districts and 200 postsecondary students. We are committed to preparing our students for success in the workforce and higher education through the delivery of over 25 unique educational programs. As Assistant Director of the GACTC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of career and technical education in our community. You will have the opportunity to take part in strategic planning, ensure compliance, collaborate with industry partners, and foster an environment of academic excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated leader who is passionate about student and school success and possesses a solid understanding of career and technical education.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to participate in the development and execution of the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. Implement high-level strategies by coordinating and supporting the day-to-day aspects and operations of the education process. Leads in the advancement of programs, ensuring alignment with PDE requirements, industry certifications and accreditations, and strategic objectives. Responsible for school wide data collection, analysis, and reporting for compliance and decision-making. Ensures and oversees articulation and dual enrollment opportunities for students. Supervises the Work-Based Learning Office and supports industry engagement. Oversees Perkins grant management and ensures effective resource allocation and alignment with institutional priorities. Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and regulations in career and technical education to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

This 12-month, administrative position with competitive salary and benefit package requires the following qualifications: Pennsylvania Career and Technical Administrative Director or Principal certification required, with preference given to the Administrative Director certification. Minimum of three years of experience in educational leadership in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a career and technical education setting, is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of career and technical education and programs. Proven track record of effective instructional leadership, staff supervision, and implementing data-driven strategies to improve outcomes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to build, promote, and maintain positive relationships with staff, regulatory bodies, community, and business stakeholders. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
